SWiSH Max is a program that utilises Adobe Flash technology to create cross-platform compatible presentations. It is developed and distributed by Swishzone.com Pty Ltd, based in Sydney, Australia.
SWiSH Max duplicates many of the effects available in the Adobe Flash software. These effects come built into SWiSH Max and as a result many people find it not only easier to use but also faster to use than the Flash software.[citation needed] SWiSH Max is also considerably less expensive than Adobe's software.
SWiSH Max primarily outputs to the .swf format created by Macromedia (now Adobe) for the purposes of displaying their content on the web within the parameters set by the W3C.
SWiSH Max uses a variation of ActionScript for scripting.
Many opensource forums exist which help beginners to understand how Flash works. These forums also push the boundaries of how SWiSH Max can be applied to Flash creation and are updated regularly.
SWiSH Max was designed for the Windows operating system (all versions) and can run on a PC with a Pentium III 300 MHz processor, 64MB RAM, and a monitor capable of 800x600 screen resolution and 256 color display.
SWISH Max works similarly to Adobe Flash, in particular due its use of objects, vector graphics, keyframes and scripting. Its main advantage compared to Flash is its large number of automated effects and transitions, which make building certain Flash elements such as buttons, advanced transition effects and interactive Flash sites easier, and the fact of it being more lightweight as a program. However it lacks certain features as well as the general-purpose flexibility of the Adobe Flash suite, which it complements rather than substitutes. A major drawback is its inability to open or save .FLA files, which limits exchanges between the two programs to final .swf files, again emphasizing their complementary nature.
The latest build date is 2008.03.28, which has some bug fixes and a couple of additions.

Bootskin: -

BootSkin is a computer program for Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista that allows users to change the screen displayed while the operating system is booting. It is made by Stardock, and distributed for free under the WinCustomize brand.
BootSkin uses a boot-time device driver (vidstub.sys) to access the display directly using VESA BIOS Extensions (VBE), unlike other bootscreen changers which alter the image of the boot screen inside the kernel. This has the advantage of not modifying system files, and makes higher-resolution boot screens possible; standard boot screens are limited to 640x480 with 16 colors. Unfortunately, some graphics cards and chipsets do not have good support for VBE, preventing their use with BootSkin.
Due to the severe restrictions on color depth, many images are not suitable for use as boot skins. Successful skins tend to take advantage of the limitations through the use of a limited palette and dithering techniques.
Installing BootSkin unattended is simple matter of using the /silent switch, unfortunately there does not seem to be any way of applying a skin without actually clicking the apply button in the program

Winzip: - WinZip is a proprietary file archiver and compressor for Microsoft Windows, developed by WinZip Computing (formerly Nico Mak Computing). It natively uses the PKZIP format but also has various levels of support for other archive formats.
WinZip was created in the early 1990s as a shareware GUI front-end for PKZIP. Sometime around 1996 the creators of WinZip incorporated compression code from the Info-ZIP project, thus eliminating the need for the PKZIP executable to be present.
From version 6.0 until version 9.0, registered users could download the newest versions of the software, enter their original registration information, and thereby obtain a free upgrade. As of version 10.0 this upgrade scheme was discontinued.[1] WinZip is available in standard and professional versions. However, the ability of Windows XP and Windows Vista to open .zip files (as "compressed folders") has reduced sales.
In May 2006, Corel Corporation, known for its WordPerfect and CorelDRAW product lines, announced that it has completed acquisition of WinZip Computing.[2]

Opera is a web browser and Internet suite developed by the Opera Software company. Opera handles common Internet-related tasks such as displaying web sites, sending and receiving e-mail messages, managing contacts, IRC online chatting, downloading files via BitTorrent, and reading web feeds. Opera is offered free of charge for personal computers and mobile phones, but for other devices it must be paid for.
Features of Opera include tabbed browsing, page zooming, mouse gestures, and an integrated download manager. Its security features include built-in phishing and malware protection, strong encryption when browsing secure web sites, and the ability to easily delete private data such as cookies and browsing history by simply clicking a button.
Opera runs on a variety of personal computer operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris.[2] Though evaluations of Opera have been largely positive, Opera has captured only a fraction of the worldwide personal computer browser market. Netscape Communications (formerly known as Netscape Communications Corporation and commonly known as Netscape) is an American computer services company, best known for its web browser. The browser was once dominant in terms of usage share, but lost most of that share to Internet Explorer during the first browser war. By the end of 2006, the usage share of Netscape browsers had fallen, from over 90% in the mid 1990s, to less than 1%.
Netscape stock traded between 1995 and 2003, subsequently as a subsidiary of AOL LLC. However, it became a holding company following Netscape's purchase by AOL in 1998. The Netscape brand is still extensively used by AOL. And some services currently offered under the Netscape brand, other than the web browser, include a discount Internet service provider and a popular social news website. As of December 2007, AOL announced it would no longer be updating the Netscape browser. Tom Drapeau, director of AOL's Netscape Brand, announced that the company would stop supporting Netscape software products as of March 1, 2008.[1] The decision met mixed reactions from communities, with many arguing that the termination of product support is significantly belated. Internet security site Security Watch stated that a trend of infrequent security updates for AOL's Netscape cause the browser to become a "security liability", specifically the 2005-2007 versions, Netscape Browser 8.[2] Asa Dotzler, one of Firefox's original programmers, greeted the news with "good riddance" in his blog post, but praised the various members of the Netscape team over the years for enabling the creation of Mozilla in 1998.[3] Others protested and petitioned AOL, including online petitions and propaganda, to continue providing vital security fixes to unknowing or loyal users of its software, as well as protection of a well-known brand.

Paltalk is an internet chat service for text, voice and video chatting. The Paltalk Messenger program is in a free, banner-supported format as well as an ad-free version that requires users to subscribe. Paltalk is only available to users of Microsoft Windows. The program now identifies itself as PaltalkScene, a change that was made in September 2007.[1]
The company itself is a privately held New York based company founded in 1998. It is run by President and COO, Joel Smernoff. Paltalk claims 4 million users worldwide,[2] making it the largest voice and video chat community on the World Wide Web.[3] It also owns and operates HearMe, a video and voice-enabled web conferencing service that allows users to conduct group meetings.[4]. Paltalk became popular after Firetalk, an earlier voice/music chat program, became unable to maintain operation due to a lack of adequate funding.

Trillian is a proprietary multiprotocol instant messaging application for Windows created by Cerulean Studios that can connect to multiple IM services, such as AIM, ICQ, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Bonjour, Jabber, and Skype networks (the latter four with Trillian Pro which allows for additional plugins).
Initially released July 1, 2000, as a freeware IRC client, the first commercial version (Trillian Pro 1.0) was published on September 10, 2002. The program was named after Trillian, a fictional character in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. The old version of the official web site even used to have a shrine to Douglas Adams on its front page. There are currently two types of Trillian available, the original and free Trillian Basic 3 and the commercial Trillian Pro 3. An upcoming product called Trillian Astra (4.0) has been announced and is currently in alpha testing.

Google Talk (GTalk) is a Windows and web-based application for voice over internet (VOIP) and instant messaging, offered by Google. The first beta version of the program was released on August 24, 2005.
Instant messaging between the Google Talk servers and its clients uses an open protocol, XMPP, allowing users of other XMPP clients to communicate with Google Talk users. VoIP in Google Talk is based around the Jingle protocol. The technology used within the Google server network however is not publicly known.
The Google Talk client is currently only available for Windows (2000, XP, Server 2003, and Vista). With the release of the Google Talk gadget, users of all platforms supported by Adobe Flash Player can also use Google Talk.[1] Many other XMPP clients are compatible with Google Talk, and support a variety of other platforms.
